We first saw each other at church in late 2020 and officially met in early 2021 at Youth group. Siona had just finished his internship in New York and Sia was working in the Pacific team at the University of Waikato.

Youth groups continued and we both found ourselves meeting at church and participating in youth sports and other activities. We were both in youth leadership roles which meant we spent a lot of time planning and executing our roles. In the process we got to know a lot about each other. We realised we had similar goals and values about what we wanted our future to look like.

Siona asked Sia to be his girlfriend in 2022. We formally told our parents and ever since then have been working on becoming the best individuals, completing our career and other goals so we can show up for ourselves, each other and our families.
